LOMA CORVETTE GT2 WIDEBODY - NON WIDE VS WIDE AND WHY A REGULAR Z06 LOOKS LIKE A BABY BESIDE THE GT2
A CORVETTE BODYKIT THAT CAN BE INSTALLED IN YOUR HOME GARAGE!
A must for every Corvette fan is the LOMA GT2 WIDEBODY BODYKIT which is available for all Corvettes from 2005 to 2013. So what is the most known bodykit on the planet all about? The idea according to LOMA CEO Mario Radosavljevic, to create a bodykit that first, can be installed by everyone in its home garage without any grinding or bigger adjustments and secondly, that will be also installed with the stock hardware, which means, you get the GT2 bodykit without any screws or bolts, because you going to use the one installed by the factory! That is huge as it shows right away, what perfect fitment is all about. The third point was, to transfer a pure racing kit into a street car which is normally impossible. But LOMA did it again. They did this with a Porsche 997 before and did it here with the Corvette C6 again.
A INTELLIGENT DESIGN MAKES THIS CORVETTE BODYKIT SUPER-UNIQUE!
An intelligent design? What does LOMA mean with that? A very good way to explain this is the rear panel. On the left you see the Yellow/Black Z06 that has a much larger mud flap then the Corvette Z06 on the right. While the right Corvette is equipped with a plastic part that works as a mud protection, the LOMA GT2 rear panel does not have any plastic at all. It is designed larger and is one piece with the panel. Only separated by the paint, it looks like it is a single part. Why they did it this way? The answer is genius and simple: First you will not have a gap between the plastic part and the panel and secondly, we don't like plastic at all, and we had to make a choice between producing a bigger plastic part, or using the stock plastic mud flap. We didn't want any of both, and so we made the choice to integrate this into the rear panel. A very unusual way to go but very effective.
CORVETTE WIDEBODY KIT MADE OUT OF PURE CARBON FIBER
Another intelligent way for this kit was, to use carbon fiber on the inner side of all parts. Wait a minute, on the inner side?? What's that for? CEO Mario Radosavljevic said, we have made the surface from Prepreg fiberglass and you face a huge problem with fiberglass no matter how good the fiberglass quality is, and this is, that when the car stands in Summer in the sun, the surface temperature is getting so high, that you start getting a chemical reaction of the resin. With more than 72 degree Celsius, the resin starts to react and moves, and then you get all over the place bubbles and parts that start waving and moving, which causes huge gaps and it looks like nothing really fits. To avoid this, we have created with a partner company a complete new resin that withstands even sunlight in Dubai for days, and we have placed on the inner side of each part, pure carbon fiber as there is no way, that carbon will move ever once it's dry. Not only that the parts are now Superlight but also very low cost for the paint job due to the fiberglass surface.
WINNING AGAINST OTHER CORVETTES WITH A 17 SECONDS LEAD!
No doubt that a huge milestone was the win in Sebring with Breathless Performance. Many other Corvette Z06´s were competing but the LOMA Corvette destroyed them due to the much wider stance and therefore Super fast cornering and braking. A 17 seconds gap to the second car finishing the race which also was a Corvette Z06, showed clearly how fast the car was. All cars had the same engine power and Ernie Francies told us after the race, we could go much much faster, but we had problems with the tire pressure as we did not have enough data what the perfect pressure would be. The extreme corner speed was causing hot tires and therefore and significant change on the tire pressure. After this statement, we our phone did not stand still as now everyone wants this advantage. In fact this was creating such a wave that even the Superstars and multiple LeMans winners from Corvette Racing were coming to see, what is the hype around the LOMA GT2 Corvette Bodykit. On the picture below you see them on one of our display cars that was running mind-blowing 1250 horses. We just received so many compliments from these guys that they sponsored us a LeMans rear wing for our street car with the note, don't copy it!
