Super sharp Porsche 997 Turbo on LOMA GTC Superlight forged wheels in 20-Inches.

The Porsche 997 Turbo has till today a huge fan base all over the world. Probably also one of the most tuned Porsche's on the market together with the Porsche 996 Turbo. No wonder that this French customer ordered a set of LOMA GTC Superlight forged wheels, after modifying the engine to 780 horsepower. Power needs control but beside that, it should also look sexy. This powerhouse is sitting now on 9.0 x 20" on the front and 12.0 x 20" on the rear, equipped with a set of Michelin Sport Cup tires. While many forum members are stating that 20-Inch custom wheels will be the wrong choice, we want to clear this myth here ans it is complete nonsense, and here is why.

Back in the days before Porsche Tuning was that normal as today and when the 19-Inch was popular and for some over the top, the tire manufacturers decided to create a tire that last for a very long time. Back in these days also it was a myth where people stated that all sport tires will be rubbish after a couple of thousand miles and so it is nonsense and too expensive to switch from stock. Now because of this myth, the tire manufacturers decided to create a long-lasting sport tire and show so, that this one is different and it makes sense to change. That was the good news. The bad news is, that they made the tire so hard that driving on 19-Inch compared to 20 or 21-Inches is like, driving on wooden wheels. They are hard and uncomfortable for daily use. Because the 19-Inch tires where a huge success build through the Tuning Industry, they launched quickly 20 and 21 Inch sizes, but this time with a far more advanced technology and therefore soft but still durable.

Since molds for tire building are super expensive and the sizing process was on its way, it doesn't make sense to them to change here anything as they know, cost to production is not in any balance, and so the 19-inch tire remained unchanged.

Porsche 997 owners know what we are talking about when they switched the e-suspension to Sport mode. It was nearly impossible to drive, at least in the City. We can guarantee you that with the set of Sport Cup tires from Michelin or the Sport tires from Pirelli for example are off the charts. You can drive 997 Turbo in Sport mode all day long and even if the car is lowered with a set of sport springs. They super comfortable and look sexy on the car with the race profile. How are they to drive in the rain? Well to our experience, pretty good. We would only suggest not to drive to fast as the aquaplaning is a faster visitor as on regular tires.

The LOMA GTC Superlight forged wheels are available as 1-piece Monoblock or Multi-piece custom wheels. Depending on the needs you have, we have the right performance wheels for you. Contact us today.
