Porsche 997 Turbo on GTC Custom Forged Wheels.

The Porsche 997 Turbo has, till today, a huge fan base all over the world. It is probably also one of the most tuned Porsche's on the market, together with the Porsche 996 Turbo. No wonder this French customer ordered a set of LOMA GTC Superlight forged wheels after modifying the engine to 780 horsepower. Power needs control, but besides that, it should also look sexy. This powerhouse is sitting now on 9.0 x 20" on the front and 12.0 x 20" on the rear, equipped with a set of Michelin Sport Cup tires. While many forum members are stating that 20-Inch custom wheels will be the wrong choice, we want to clear this myth here, and it is complete nonsense, and here is why.
Back in the days before, Porsche Tuning was that normal as today. When the 19-Inch was popular, and for some over the top, the tire manufacturers decided to create a tire that lasts for a very long time. Back in these days, also it was a myth where people stated that all sport tires will be rubbish after a couple of thousand miles, and so it is nonsense and too expensive to switch from stock. Because of this myth, the tire manufacturers decided to create a stable sport tire and show it so that this one is different and makes sense to change. That was the good news. The bad news is that they made the tire so hard that driving on 19-Inch compared to 20 or 21-Inches is like driving on wooden wheels. They are hard and uncomfortable for daily use. Because the 19-Inch tires were a huge success build through the Tuning Industry, they quickly launched 20 and 21 Inch sizes, but this time with a far more advanced technology and therefore soft but still durable.
Since molds for tire building are super expensive and the sizing process was on its way, it doesn't make sense to change here anything as they know. The production cost is not in any balance 19-inch tire remained unchanged. Porsche 997 owners know what we were talking about when they switched the e-suspension to Sport mode. It was nearly impossible to drive, at least in the City. We can guarantee you that the set of Sport Cup tires from Michelin or the Sport tires from Pirelli, for example, are off the charts. You can drive 997 Turbo in Sport mode all day long and even if the car is lowered with a set of sport springs. They super comfortable and look sexy on the vehicle with the race profile. How are they to drive in the rain? Well, to our experience, pretty good. We would only suggest not going too fast as the aquaplaning is a faster visitor than regular tires. The LOMA GTC Superlight forged wheels are available as 1-piece Monoblock or Multi-piece custom wheels. Depending on your needs, we have the right performance wheels for you. Contact us today.
